Catholic Archbishop Jose Gomez will host a prayer service in memory of the 1,5 million Armenians, slaughtered in the Ottoman Empire.
Mayor Eric Garcetti will deliver a speech at the service Tuesday evening at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, Associated Press reports.
Church leaders from all over the state will participate in the service, during which a procession of Armenian children will carry lanterns into the cathedral.
