“According to preliminary data, the PACE Co-Rapporteurs on Armenia will visit the country,” the representative of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) Arman Grigoryan stated in an interview with Haykakan Zhamanak daily. The latter will participate in the enlarged session of PACE Monitoring Committee, to be held in October and on behalf of the ANC will again demand monitoring on Armenia.

As to whether a replacement of a co-rapporteur is expected due to the impending elections in Sweden, scheduled for October, Grigoryan said the replacement of Goran Lindblad, PACE co-rapporteur on Armenia, depends on these elections. “If he is elected, he will have an opportunity to present Sweden as a deputy, consequently another co-rapporteur will be appointed. However, to my knowledge, he is unlikely to be elected, thus he will remain co-rapporteur on Armenia,” the oppositionist said.
