The rumors that the X-Group company purchased the Lusakert poultry factory have not yet been confirmed. Artak Shaboyan, Chairman of the RA Commission for Protection of Economic Competition, stated July 28 that the Commission has not yet received any applications for merger. According to him, when a major producer purchases another, or in the case of merger, the economic entities are supposed to apply to the Commission.

“In case they fail to apply to the Commission, the transaction will be invalidated,” Shaboyan said.

Khachik Danielyan, the lawyer for the Yerevan poultry factory gave assurances that no purchase process has been started or he “would be informed.”

Speaking of the present situation, he said that poultry factories should reduce output. Particularly, the Yerevan poultry factory has reduced its output by 20%.
