Vache Gabrielyan, Deputy PM and Minister of Minister of International Economic Integration and Reforms, attended a high-level meeting with the participation pf international financial institutions. The conference, entitled “Coherence, coordination and cooperation in the context of financing for sustainable development and the post-2015 development agenda,” was organized by the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) was held in New York.
It was attended by the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Turkey’s Deputy PM, ministers from Columbia, Sweden, the Netherlands, Tunisia, Ethiopia, as well as by the World Bank, WTO, IMF and UNCTAD (United Nations Conference on Trade and Development) representatives.
In his speech, Armenia’s Deputy PM referred to Armenia’s cooperation with international financial organizations (specifically, in the field of infrastructure funding) and global macroeconomic trends.
Referring to infrastructure projects, Deputy PM expressed concerns on non-exploitation of the Gyumri-Kars railway due to the illegal blockade from the side of Turkey. Such conduct is as ineffective as the patronage to Azerbaijan’s aggressive policy, Gabrielyan said.
