Armenia’s FM Edward Nalbandian attended the opening of the exhibition ‘Paris welcomes Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex of Yerevan’ at Mayor’s Office in Paris. He also took part in the exclusive issue of the French magazine Politique Internationale dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, as well as the traditional reception organized on occasion of the Great Genocide. 

Upon the initiative of Anne Hidalgo, the Mayor of Paris, the events were attended by nearly 2000 guests, including different religious community representatives, Charles Aznavour, a number of ambassadors accredited in Paris, French Parliament and local council MPs, Deputy Mayor of Yerevan and heads of French-Armenian organizations.

Armenia’s Deputy FM and the Mayor of Paris visited the exhibition in Mayor’s Office of Paris and got familiarized with the exhibits, accompanied by Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Director Hayk Demoyan and exhibition commissioner Raymond Kévorkian.

The exhibition, which will be held until July 4, has been organized by Mayor’s Office in Paris, in cooperation with Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute, Armenian Embassy in France, Yerevan Municipality and Coordination Council of Armenian organizations of France. Thousand of advertising banners in Paris included information about the exhibition.

During the opening, Anne Hidalgo said that the event served to pay tribute to the memory of the Armenians martyred 100 years ago during the Armenian Genocide, and was also an expression of gratitude to the Genocide survivors and their descendents, who having established in France, have made their serious contribution to the development of the country. According to the Mayor of Paris, it was a great honor to host Armenian Genocide Museum exhibits in Mayor’s Office halls and thereby inform the guests about the Armenian Genocide history.  She said that over 60 schools in Paris have been listed to attend the exhibition.
