A 0.8% price reduction was registered this June as compared with last June. A 3.7% price rise was registered as compared with last December, and a 7.8% price rise as compared with last July, the RA Statistical Service reports.

Under Armenian law, prices for 12 months are subject to regulation. An annual price rise has been registered. Specifically, a 5.8% price rise was registered this June, with an additional 2% rise registered this July. This means the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) fails to properly perform its function – ensuring price stability – or meet the requirements set by Article 4 of the 2010 budget.

The prices for eggs, fruit, vegetables and sugar have shown a decrease this month as compared with this June. An 11.4% monthly fall, and a 16.6% annual fall, in egg prices has been registered.

A 0.2% monthly rise in meat products was registered as well.
