Armenia’s new Ambassador to Iran, Artashes Tumanyan, on Tuesday presented his credentials to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.
President Rouhani expressed satisfaction by the friendship and mutually beneficial Armenia-Iran relations. He noted that there is no obstacle before the development of relations between the two countries. Also, the Iranian President asked the ambassador to convey his warm greetings to the President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan.
Ambassador Tumanyan, for his part, conveyed President Sargsyan’s warm greetings to President Rouhani. He assured that he will spare no effort to further enhance Armenia-Iran relations, and stressed the importance of interstate programs.
In turn, the President of Iran underscored the need to be consistent in the implementation of joint programs. He added that Armenia and Iran collaborate in the best way possible within the international arena, too. Furthermore, President Rouhani praised the role of the Armenian community in Iran, and added that it is indispensible to intensify contacts to achieve a closer awareness between the two peoples.
The President of Iran also wished the Armenian ambassador success in his diplomatic activities, and expressed the hope that bilateral relations will further expand and grow deeper during his mission in Iran.
