Vatican officially recognized the state of Palestine, Associated Press reports.
According to the official documents, within the framework of diplomatic relations, Vatican preferred to address the state of Palestine, rather than the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), as it used to do earlier, Gazeta reports.
"Yes, it's a recognition that the state exists," said the Vatican spokesman said. In its turn, Israel expressed its disappointment with Vatican’s decision.
