YEREVAN. – The forensic examination and genetic testing reveal that the shots in the house of the Avetisyans, a family killed in Gyurmi, were made by one man, representative of legal heir Lusine Sahakyan told reporters.

The direction of the shots, DNA found on the weapon and clothes suggest that Permyakov was the only shooter. Yerem Sargsyan who is representing interests of legal heirs said a cigarette stub left by Permyakov was found on the gas heater.

“Permyakov's DNA was found on all objects having relation to the crime,” Sargsyan said.

As reported earlier, six members of the Avetisyan family—including a two-year-old girl—were shot dead, and a six-month-old baby was wounded in their house in Gyumri on January 12. The baby boy died in hospital on January 19. Valery Permyakov, a serviceman of the 102nd Russian Military Base in Gyumri, stands accused in this crime. The soldier is charged under Russian law, with “the murder of more than two people” and “desertion with a service weapon.” Another criminal case was opened by Armenia's Investigation Committee.
