Tehran does not see serious readiness from Washington to fight against the Islamic State, Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif said in an interview with Spiegel.
He said Iran will support all attempts in the global and regional level. The Minister noted that the forces that were supporting extremist groups, such as ISIS and Al-Qaeda, later themselvs fell victims of these groups, RIA Novosti reported.
In addition, Tehran continues its support for the legal government of Syria.
“Unless we did, ISIS militants would sit in Damascus now,” he emphasized.
Javad Zarif reiterated his country’s position that only political solution is possible in Syria.
