No Armenians have been killed or injured as a result of an armed conflict on the Israeli-Lebanese border, Shahan Kandaharian, Editor-in-Chief of the Beirut-based Aztag daily, told NEWS.am. 

Armenian settlements are located a long way from the area subjected to bombings. He also said that a reporter of the Al-Akbar newspaper was killed, and a number of civilians injured.

Diplomatic circles are expected to condemn Israel for the incident, Kandaharian said. The incident has aroused concern, and a new war is not ruled out.

The French foreign office has expressed its concern over the border incident. Syria voiced its support for Lebanon, and Egypt demanded an international assessment. The incident claimed the life of one Israeli soldier, leaving injured on both sides.
