An Irish woman was stunned when a stranger, whom she sent a box of gifts 16 years ago, tracked her down on Facebook.

According to Irish Daily Mirror, Claire Fahy, 24, was shocked when she received a message from Armenian man Arsen Khachatryan.

At the age of eight Claire had sent him a package including gloves, crayons, a notebook and a toothbrush as part of the Operation Christmas Child appeal. To prove he was genuine, Arsen sent a photo of Claire’s letter, noting that he didn’t want to thank her for the box but for the childhood dreams.

Claire was also happy to receive a photo photo of Arsen with his wife and their baby.

She said: “He’s 27 now, has a lovely marriage and an eight-month-old daughter. He put himself through college to become an accountant and owns his own travel agency. He seems amazing.”

Claire added she hopes to stay in touch with Arsen, since he feels like a family member to her. She would also love to meet him one day.
