YEREVAN. - On the Armenian lands, currently conventionally called part of Turkey, millions of Armenians have remained and their rights are not defended, Armenia’s Heritage Party MP Zaruhi Postanjyan told Armenian News – NEWS.am, commenting on her bill on the occupation of Armenia’s indigenous lands and territories by the Turkish Republic and condemnation of Armenia’s Great Patricide.

Armenia must draw out minimal and maximal rights - both moral and material - which should be presented to Turkey, Postanjyan said. “The necessity of concrete actions is implied,” she said.

According to Postanjyan, one of the many rights of Armenians currently living in Turkey is the right to study their native language, but this right isn’t observed. And Turkey hasn’t yet joined the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages.  

Among other issues, the bill will be discussed in the parliamentary hearings on Armenian-Turkish relations, which are supposed to be held in September 2015.
