YEREVAN. - Armenian Parliament discussed a bill on changes in the Criminal and Criminal Procedure Codes drawn up by the government. The bill was adopted at the first reading on Monday.  

The changes were proposed to harmonize them with the UN Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment, adopted on 19 December, 1984.  

It is proposed to punish the violence of officials for a period of 4-8 years.
