Representatives of Beeline Armenia (ArmenTel) and Children of Armenia Fund (COAF) visited Getashen community located in Armavir province of Armenia, where they familiarized themselves with the implementation of the joint Agro School project. The project aims to solve educational, emigration and social problems in rural communities through digital technologies.

The project enables to learn about the latest farming news as early as at school, teaches to correctly assess the capabilities of cultivated land, have competitive production and be able to properly present them in the market applying the marketing practices and modern technologies.    

“I was very much inspired by the launch of the Agro School project. Today my feeling of inspiration doubled or even tripled, when we collected the first crop of Agro School with the young project participants. It is important to create new opportunities for the development of the growing generation, transfer them our experience and technologies to correctly build the future and make the life better,” Andrey Pyatakhin, Director General of Beeline said.

The project includes 4 key components: development of educational curricula and construction of greenhouses, theoretical and practical trainings, exchange of experience with high school students from other village communities and marketing and sale of production through internet platform. 235 students from Armavir province high schools are taking part in the project.

Agro School project is implemented within the framework of Beeline’s global strategy Make your Mark, which is the key constituent of social corporate policy of VimpelCom.
