YEREVAN. – President of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, Galust Sahakyan, on Thursday received Ali Kaeidi, the Head of Iran-Armenia Friendship Group of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (parliament) of Iran, and members of this friendship group.

Sahakyan noted that Armenia-Iran relations continue developing in a climate of mutual trust, reported the NA press service. The Armenian parliament speaker highlighted the implementation of economic programs within the designed terms, which will enable to raise the level of relations to a new qualitative degree.

Kaeidi, for his part, stressed the active cooperation of the parliamentary delegations of the two countries. Speaking about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, he noted that the Iranian authorities are confident that the conflict shall be resolved through peace talks.

Galust Sahakyan and Ali Kaeidi also discussed several other matters of bilateral interest. In particular, they conferred on Armenia’s accession to the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union, the intensification of parliamentary relations, and activities of the friendship groups.
