The ArmenTel CJSC (Beeline brand) has announced a 3-fold increase of the G3 network capacity in Yerevan. The present inbound traffic for mobile Internet users averages 3MB per second.

ArmenTel Director Igor Klimko said that the first stage of a 3-fold increase in the 3G network capacity planned for this year is over in Yerevan.

The company plans to install more than 100 new base stations thereby expanding the 3G network in Armenia’s regions.

This January ArmenTel announced a more than 2-fold increase of the G3 network capacity throughout Armenia. The maximum theoretical data transmission is 14.4MB per second. The actual rate is normally within 3MB per second. The HSUPA standard, which places emphasis on the speed of outbound traffic, has a theoretical upload rate of up to 5.7MB per second.
