Russia remains a country of fools and bad roads where nothing has changed and state decisions are illogical, the former CBA chairman and oppositionist Bagrat Asatryan told the reporters on Friday, commenting on Russia’s ban on grain exports.

World is waiting in horror for the consequences of Putin’s decision, he added. However, the oppositionist found difficult to say how the decision will affect Armenia. “I am afraid, the situation will deteriorate,” Asatryan stated. According to him, Armenia has wheat in reserves for the next two weeks, but under the EU regulations the reserves should be sufficient for 100 days. “In 2008 the CBA was engaged in interventions, whereas we offered to build up fuel and grain reserves. However, our proposal was rejected,” said the member of the Armenian National Congress.

As NEWS.am reported earlier, Russian Prmier Vladimir Putin stated on Thursday that Russia imposes a ban on grain exports. The decision will be in effect from August 15 to December 31.

Armenia imports a total of 300-400 thousand tons of grain yearly, with Russia’s share being the largest.
