Tariff hike of housing services is not beneficial to Armenian authorities either, Eduard Sharmazanov, Armenian parliament Deputy Speaker and spokesperson for ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) said on Thursday after the session of the Executive Body of RPA, touching on the energy tariff hike and the upcoming parliamentary hearings on Friday. 

“Tomorrow you will see whether that hike is justified or not. No authority can welcome and wish a certain product to become more expensive. But if this does happen, that is for a reason. The rest will be clear tomorrow,” Sharmazanov said.

Electric Network of Armenia has addressed the Public Services Regulatory Commission for raising the electricity tariff by 17 AMD. The Commission has already considered the application, having drawn up a draft decision which proposes to raise the tariff by 6,93 AMD.
