YEREVAN. - President Serzh Sargsyan today convened a meeting with the representatives of the World Committee of 6th Pan-Armenian Games (WCPAG). The preparatory organizational process and the work to be implemented before the opening of the Games were discussed.

Ishkhan Zakaryan, Chairman of Armenia’s Control Chamber and WCPAG, reported that the grand opening of the Games will take place at the Republican Stadium of capital Yerevan, the closing being held on Theatre Square of Gyumri city on August 13. The games, bearing the motto “Unity through sport,” will be held in capital Yerevan, Karabakh capital Stepanakert, as well as Armenia’s Gyumri, Vanzadzor, Abovyan and Artashat cities. According to the regulations, the collective teams of Armenian cities take part in the Games.

The WCPAG Chairman also presented the sport types to be included in the program of the Games.

President Serzh Sargsyan underscored the importance of holding high-level Games, and gave corresponding instructions with regard to the organizational matters. He also stressed that the 6th Pan-Armenian Games are held in the framework of the Armenian Genocide Centennial Commemoration events, their proper organization requiring maximal efforts from all the state authorities and persons responsible for the event.
