YEREVAN. – Armenia receives most oil products from Russia and Europe, especially from Romania.

The Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Armenia, Areg Galstyan, on Saturday noted the above-said at the 89th Rose-Roth seminar of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, and which is held in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan.

In his words, Armenia is heavily dependent on the primary sources of energy. Galstyan also stressed that the country’s energy sector develops solely through private funding, and it is primarily regulated by the law. 

“In 2014, we [Armenia] created additional advantages for restoring energy,” said the deputy minister. “The government is trying to find cheaper sources of financing for the [country’s] private enterprises.” 

Areg Galstyan added that a tender will be held in Armenia next year, and a private company will be selected that carries out solar energy projects.
