The oldest Armenia daily ‘Zhamanak’ (Time) is published in Istanbul is funded by means of advertisement placement, the newspaper’s editor-in-chief Ara Kochunian told Armenian News – NEWS.am.
According to him, the newspaper faces serious economic challenges.
“We have very limited means for preparing future workers. We are supported by no political force. People with the most various mindset have worked in the newspaper at different times,” he said, adding that the advantage of the newspaper is its 110-year-old history.
“It’s necessary to welcome the very fact that the world’s oldest Armenian newspaper is published in Istanbul,” he concluded.
