YEREVAN. - Solution should be found for Armenia’s Nairit rubber plant in the near future, Areg Galstyan, Armenia’s Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources said in the parliament on Monday.

“Necessary sources for this seem to have been found and I think the government’s intension will be carried out,” Galstyan said.

Nairit has created a number of problems for the country, since the wage arrears to its employees are paid from the profit of state energy companies.

The plant employees have picketed in front of the parliament, government and presidential residence for several times over the last year.

In 2006, Armenia sold 90 per cent of Nairit company’s shares to the British Consortium Rhinoville Property Limited for $40 million. Since then the company hasn’t practically appeared before the public or press.
