YEREVAN. - Prosecutor General’s Office of Armenia hasn’t started an investigation in the Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA) and Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC), which it was obliged to do following [Armenian President] Serzh Sargsyan’s statement on audit, movement coordinator Davit Danasaryan, who is on hunger strike, said today in his speech at the rally against the electricity price hike in Liberty Square. “If the Prosecutor’s Office doesn’t start an investigation in the mentioned institutions, we will demand resignations during the next rally and will put all the responsibility on Serzh Sargsyan,” Sanasaryan said.

According to Davit Sanasaryan, they have no hope that the audit and its conclusion will be in favor of the people.

“Is there anyone here who believes the audit and its conclusion? Serzh Sargsyan is thereby snaring the citizens; he knows what the results of the audit must be,” he said.

Large number of police forces is present in Liberty Square. They are concentrated by all the entrances to the square. 

Yerevan Deputy Chief of Police once again urged the rally coordinators to stay in Liberty Square and refrain from holding a march.

Following the two-week sit-in, the police opened Yerevan’s central Baghramyan Avenue on Monday. The protestors, 40 of which were detained, moved to the Liberty Square. Today protestors have convened a rally in Liberty Square, following which they may launch a march.
