Serj Tankian is very happy to be in Armenia and has not expected so many people at a press conference, the former System of a Down front man told the journalists today. He stressed that wanted to visit Armenia long ago but all his attempts failed. Serj Tankian said he is happy that finally the concert will be held.

Tankian noted that he has managed to perform with different orchestras during his “Elect the dead symphony” tour, expressing hope that once he will perform with the Armenian symphony orchestra as well. Today, the musician will give a concert within the framework of his Imperfect Harmonies tour. “Frankly speaking I would like to visit Armenia before or after the tour. In this case I would manage to spend more time here,” Tankian said, adding that he will be able to come to Armenia later.

The former System of a Down front man said that he had already visited different Armenian regions and he liked Armenian nature. The musician also stressed he would participate in the project on restoration of the music school in Gyumri.

As NEWS.am reported earlier, Serj Tankian will give a concert in Sports and Concert Complex on August 12. Serj Tankian became famous as the lead vocalist of the System of a Down rock band. During his musical career, he has released five albums with System of a Down, one with Arto Tuncboyaciyan (Serart), as well as his debut solo album Elect the Dead.
