Jake Hess, an American journalist working in Turkey, was arrested last night by the Turkish police in Diyarbakir.
According to Hurriyet Daily News, he faced accusations of having links with the Kurdish Communities Union (KCK) and of leaking information to U.S. security services. His lawyer rejected all accusations, saying the arrest was politically motivated.
