German Chancellor Angela Merkel came out against same-sex marriages, Independent reports.  

Merkel said she supports eliminating discrimination and backs same-sex partnerships, although she considers marriage as ‘a man and a woman living together.’

“Personally for me marriage is when man and woman live together. This is my approach, but I support civil partnerships,” Merkel said, Gazeta reports.
