Agreement of six global powers with Iran over its nuclear program is nothing but historic, and the biggest news since the end of the Iraq war, Prof. Arshin Adib-Moghaddam, Co-editor in Chief of The Global Middle East (Cambridge University Press) book series, Chair of the Centre for Iranian Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London told Armenia News – NEWS.am, commenting on the landmark accord of July 14 in Vienna.

“This agreement is nothing but historic and the biggest news since the Iraq war. If the domestic politics plays along and the current bout of rational choice prevails, a tactical agreement will turn into a rather more strategic rapprochement in other fields as well”, he told.

To remind, in line with the agreement, Iran is supposed to drastically reduce the stock of low-enriched uranium, as well as dismantle some key nuclear facilities, such as heavy water reactor in Arak and Fordow underground enrichment plant. In return, the EU and the US will lift oil embargo and other trading limitations, as well as allow Iran to access to Swift electronic banking system.
