The rebels of Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) declared a unilateral ceasefire for the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
The ceasefire declared by the Kurdish militants who are fighting against the Turkish armed forces will last from August 13 until September 20.
The PKK has been fighting with the Turkish authorities since 1984. Overall 45,000 people were killed from both sides. The Kurdish militants are struggling for the creation of an independent Kurdistan.
