YEREVAN. - “Stand up, Armenia” initiative is protesting in Yerevan’s Republic Square demanding the resignation of Armenia’s Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) and nationalization of the Russian-owned Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA).

“We will continue our struggle. They are “choking” the power industry of the country, operating ENA for their business. Our struggle is not only for them to reconsider the adopted decisions, but also to concede the governance to the citizens. This will be achieved as a result of consistent struggle,” one of the initiative coordinators Davit Sanasaryan said.

During the next rally, the activists want to fully block the Republic Square if enough people gather.

“If the head of ENA Yevgeni Bibin and PSRC Chairman Robert Nazaryan lack commitment to principles in performing their job, we tell them: go and work abroad, we don’t need you,” activist David Hovhannisyan said.

Several dozens of people attended the rally, as reported by Armenian News – NEWS.am correspondent.

“Stand up, Armenia” initiative activists have been staging a sit-in in Yerevan’s Republic Square since July 27. They are demanding to revoke the decision on electricity price hike in Armenia (before the conclusion of the international audit in Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA), the price is subsidized by the government).
