Russia and Iran have friendly relations, and the countries are constructively working in almost all directions, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said opening talks with his Iranian counterpart Javad Zarif.

Russia is interested in boosting cooperation with Iran to settle crisis in the Middle East and North Africa, Lavrov added.  

He expressed confidence that involvement of these countries will yield results that will be in the interests of regional countries.

Earlier Russian Deputy FM Igor Morgulov said the issue of S-300 supplies may be discussed during talks.
