YEREVAN. – The Gazprom Armenia electric power stations—which are the fifth energy unit of the country’s Hrazdan Thermal Power Plant (TPP)—will help export electricity through Georgia and Iran.

The aforesaid operations will be conducted within the framework of the Armenian-Russian protocol regarding future activities of Gazprom Armenia CJSC.

The abovementioned protocol was approved at Tuesday’s Cabinet session of the Armenian government.

Pursuant to this agreement, Gazprom Armenia will have a preferential right to connect to the new line of the Iran-Armenia electricity transmission, once this new line is built.
