YEREVAN.  – Construction of Armenia-Iran railway has a strategic importance for Armenia, since this railway can lead the country out of Turkish-Azerbaijani blockade, expert on Iran Vardan Voskanyan told reporters.

According to him, Armenia should do everything to implement this project and come out of a blockade. He welcomed the fact that the Armenian government is actively trying to find co-funding for this project.

The construction of the Iran-Armenia may amount to $3.5 billion. Construction is expected to last up to six years, but investors have not been determined yet.
