Armenian Transport Ministers Manuk Vardanyan and Vadim Mikhailov, senior vice president of the Russian Railways and General Director of the South Caucasus Railways (SCR)  Shevket Shaydulin discussed the issues related to SCR activities in Yerevan.

Vardanyan noted that Russian President’s visit to Armenia will positively affect the development of bilateral cooperation in various fields. The sides touched upon investment policy of SCR, program of further development of the sphere in Armenia, as well as transport services. The officials pointed out the project of North-South railway and the issue on reconstruction of Vanadzor-Fioletovo section.

Earlier, Russian Transport Minister Igor Levitin arrived in Yerevan within the framework of Dmitry Medvedev’s state visit to Armenia. He planned to give a press conference with his Armenian counterpart in the SCR office. However, the meeting did not take place. The official version says the Minister refused to meet with the reporters due to heavy schedule.
