RA President Serzh Sargsyan commented on the protocol prolonging the presence of the Russian military base in Armenia signed in Yerevan on August 20.

The protocol not only prolongs the presence of the Russian base in Armenia, but also enhances its geographic and strategic responsibility, President Sargsyan told a news conference held jointly with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev, a NEWS.am correspondent reported.

The Armenian leader stressed that the point on the USSR borders has been removed from the text.
