At the initiative of the Artsakh Union of Freedom Fighters (AUFF), one hundred Karabakh War veterans, led by Prime Minister Arayik Haroutyunyan of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR; Artsakh), have left from the NKR capital city of Stepanakert to the Armenia-Azerbaijan border area in the Tavush Province of Armenia.
Chairman of the AUFF Askeran Regional Association, Samvel Aghajanyan, told Artsakhpress that they are leaving with enthusiasm and high spirits.
“Our objective is to deal a crushing blow to the enemy once again, and make [it] understand to give up such encroachments,” added Aghajanyan.
The situation on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border is tense since Tuesday. Azerbaijan fires shots at the border villages in the Tavush Province, on a regular basis. As a result, the Armenian side has suffered several injuries.
