The pitch invasion of Shahen Harutyunyan, son of the Armenian political prisoner Shant Harutyunyan in Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium during Armenia v. Portugal match cost Armenian EUR 25,000 penalty, Armenia’s Football Federation President Ruben Hayrapetyan told Aravot.am.

Before the start of yesterday’s Armenia v. Denmark match, Hayrapetyan had urged Shahen Harutyunyan to refrain from invading the pitch again.

On July 13, Shahen Harutyunyan invaded the field by the end of the first half of the Euro-2016 qualifying match Armenia v. Portugal. Wearing a T-shirt with his father’s photo, the boy was trying to voice the issue of political prisoners in Armenia.
