Large fire, which sparked near Arzakan village in Armenia’s Kotayk province today, was put out with great difficulty.
Arzakan governor Norik Movsisyan told Armenian News – NEWS.am that the difficulty of putting out the fire was due to the location: the fire-engines couldn’t approach the territory. With the help of the residents of Arzakan and Bjni villages, who carried water to the site on their cars, the firefighters managed to localize and put out the fire with great difficulty.
Besides the grassy area, one section of the adjacent forest area was also burnt.
According to the governor, the fire was most probably the result of negligence.
