The Canadian photographer Christopher Herwig has an unusual habit. He spent 12 years photographing old bus stops in the territory of the Soviet Union.  

Herwig began his journey in 2002 and visited 13 different countries, including Armenia, The Daily Mail reports.

Most of them have been out of use for decades, but in contrast to many dull and monotonous buildings of that time, many show original design by architects.

Despite many hardships on his way, including accusations of espionage by locals, Christopher ended his journey by publishing a book with a collection of the best bus stops.

“I think it was for public art,” Christopher said, noting that they used creative methods.
