YEREVAN. - Yesterday’s fundraising didn’t collect sufficient amount for the treatment of Samvel Avetisyan, Avetisyan told Armenian News – NEWS.am corrspondent.   

Samvel Avetisyan, 22, got a firearm wound in his spinal section in the army in 2012, after which he hasn’t been able to walk, being confined to wheelchair for already 3 years.

“733,000 AMD was raised, which is approximately €1500 Euro. Still €2000 Euro is necessary,” Samvel said.

Yesterday’s fundraising event was considered to be the last one, but Samvel will have to hold another fundraising with his fiends after September 15 to collect the necessary €10,000 Euro.  

“Menk” youth initiative held a fundraising event in Yerevan’s Northern Avenue in support of Samvel Avetisyan yesterday. The organizers hoped to raise 3500 Euro.

In case of receiving treatment in Germany, there’s 80-90 per cent possibility that Samvel will start walking again.
