YEREVAN. - The “train” of Armenia’s constitutional amendments has already moved, and everyone should find their place on that train, Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) spokesman and Armenian Parliament Vice-Chairman Eduard Sharmazanov told Armenian News – NEWS.am after the meeting of the RPA Executive Body session today.
Touching on the possible advancements of the “No” movement, he said that Armenia is a country where democracy is an established fact. “Today the fact is that the overwhelming majority of the country’s political forces, even the ones who were against the constitutional amendments a few months ago, advocate for their implementation and consider that necessary. They have a balanced stance after meetings with the President,” Sharmazanov said.
According to him, the political consolidation, which the President was talking about, already exists today. “Everything will be decided by the republic’s citizens. This is decided neither by us nor the “No” movement,” he said.
