YEREVAN. - Proposing Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member-states to switch to estimations in ruble, Armenia PM meant the gas price first of all, Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) spokesman and Armenian Parliament Vice-Chairman Eduard Sharmazanov told Armenian News – NEWS.am after the meeting of the RPA Executive Body session today.

According to him, the government representative Suren Karayan explained very precisely that the PM meant first of all the estimation of gas price in rubles and not dollars. “I’m not an economist, but even my modest knowledge in the sphere of economics prompts me that it will be more beneficial if the gas price is calculated in rubles. My impression is that the calculation in dollars and Euro will be unbeneficial for Armenia due to ruble and dollar rate fluctuations,” Sharmazanov said.

Earlier, during the meeting of the EAEU Intergovernmental Council in Grodno city of Belarus on Tuesday, Armenia’s PM Hovik Abrahamyan proposed the EAEU member-states to shift to calculations in ruble.
