We can explain why Armenia can host limited number of Syrian refugees, Brussels Capital Region parliamentary secretary André du Bus, who has returned from a study visit with a group of Belgian parliamentarian colleagues to Nagorno-Karabakh, told Armenian News – NEWS.am correspondent.

“Of course, the republic lacks an infrastructure on their reception in same quantities as in Brussels and other European cities. One has to confess that the reception is restricted by the economic opportunities of the country. The republic has hosted 12,000 refugees, which isn’t that much as compared to their overall number and demand for reception.  

On the other hand, there is a historic and genetic link, which makes the reception more natural than that in Europe,” du Bus said.
