make preferableGYUMRI. – Relatives of the Avetisyan family, which was brutally killed in January in Gyumri, Armenia, doubt that they will hear, in the Armenian court trial into the murder case, and from Valery Permyakov, the answers to their questions.
“As much as he did not speak in the Russian court, he will not speak just as much in the Armenian [court] session,” said Rita Petrosyan, sister of slain Hasmik Avetisyan, speaking to Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Petrosyan, together with the other relatives of the murdered Avetisyan family, visited the latter’s graves on Monday’s All Souls’ Day in Armenia.
Before heading to the cemetery, however, the relatives assembled outside the Avetisyan family home.
Numerous other Gyumri residents also visited the cemetery and paid their respects to the slain family.
The Avetisyan’s gravestones have now been placed through the money collected in the bank account that was opened in the name of little Seryozha, and with the money allocated from the Gyumri Municipality.
Six members of the Avetisyan family—including a two-year-old girl—were shot dead, and a six-month-old baby—Seryozha Avetisyan—was wounded in their house in Gyumri on January 12; but the baby boy died in hospital on January 19.
Valery Permyakov, a serviceman of the 102nd Russian Military Base in the city, is charged with these murders.
Armenia and Russia instituted criminal cases on charges of murder and military desertion, respectively.
On August 12, the Russian court sentenced Permyakov to ten years in prison.
