YEREVAN. - If the issue of the Sarsang Reservoir is discussed in the social dimension as an issue of  lack of water, without getting involved in the political nature of the Karabakh conflict, then the social solution was proposed exactly by the Nagorno-Karabakh authorities, Naira Karapetyan, Armenian MP and Armenian delegation representative to PACE Committee on Social Affairs, Health and Sustainable Development, told Armenian News – NEWS.am.

The MP said that the issue on the Sarsang Reservoir wasn’t on the agenda of the session held by the aforementioned PACE Committee on September 13. “This issue will most probably be discussed at the Committee session to be held in the framework of the PACE fall plenary session by late September,” Karapetyan said.

The MP also stressed that the Karabakh authorities have regularly proposed to jointly use the Sarsang Reservoir water resources. “Milica Markovic has already been to Azerbaijan and collected the necessary facts there. Now is the turn for Nagorno-Karabakh; we’ll see if she visits Karabakh or not. This should be decided by the authorities of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic and PACE Secretariat,” Karapetyan said.

PACE fall session will be held in Strasbourg from September 28 through October 2.
