Azerbaijani Milli Mejlis has adopted a document titled “Decision of Milli Mejlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the Resolution of European Parliament of 10 September 2015,” APA reports.

According to the document, the resolution adopted by the European Parliament is of an extremely biased nature: “They slander Azerbaijan, trying to damage the image of our country and isolate it. Since last September when this institution began to operate with a new staff, Azerbaijan hasn’t managed to begin a dialogue with it due to the fault of several European Parliament members, including its President. The MPs and President of the European Parliament were unofficially banned from visiting Azerbaijan,” the document reads.

Pursuant to the decision, the requirements included in the resolution on the dismissal of several persons have no legal grounding and are an interference with the affairs of the Azerbaijani courts. Besides, the document says that Europe is already trying to call into question the elections to be held in Azerbaijan, which contradicts the will of the Azerbaijani electors. Thus, Milli Mejlis decided “to put an end to the destructive actions and biased campaigns against Azerbaijan, prevent the activity aimed at harming the reputation of the European Parliament and to stop the participation of the Azerbaijani delegation in the sessions of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, as well order the Cabinet of Ministers to ban the entry of the European Parliament members to Azerbaijan in case of imposing sanctions to the responsible persons in Azerbaijan.”

The aforementioned resolution, adopted by the European Parliament on September 10, criticized the situation related to the human rights in the country and urged to impose corresponding sanctions against a number of Azerbaijani officials who violate those rights.
