Representatives of the legal successors of the victims have received very important data during the forensic psychological and psychiatric evaluation of Russian soldier Valery Permyakov, who is the defendant in the case into the brutal murder of Avetisyan family in Armenia’s Gyumri city.

A representatives of the legal successors of the victims, Lusine Sahakyan, who had attended this review which was held Thursday in the 102nd Russian Military Base in the city, told about the aforementioned to reporters, after the evaluation.

The attorney stressed that they have no right to disseminate any information on this review, and solely said the important data they received on Thursday will be indispensable for them during the trial.

Another representatives of the legal successors of the victims, Yerem Sargsyan, noted that even though this forensic psychological and psychiatric evaluation has given rise to new theories, they will sum up the respective results only after receiving and examining the findings.

And attorney Mihran Poghosyan added that if, after receiving the review results, need be to compare the testimonies, they will submit a petition to take Permyakov to the Avetisyan home and conduct an examination there.

To note, as a result of the earlier psychiatric evaluation conducted by the Russian side, the Russian soldier was declared mentally sound, but with some deviations.

Six members of the Avetisyan family—including a two-year-old girl—were shot dead, and a six-month-old baby—Seryozha Avetisyan—was wounded in their house in Gyumri on January 12; but the baby boy died in hospital on January 19.

Valery Permyakov, a serviceman of the 102nd Russian Military Base in the city, is charged with these murders.

Armenia and Russia instituted criminal cases on charges of murder and military desertion, respectively.

On August 12, the Russian court sentenced Permyakov to ten years in prison.
