YEREVAN. - The new Armenian Constitution will enable changing the parliament speaker, Vardan Poghosyan, member of the presidential Commission on Constitutional Reforms said in the parliament today, touching on the results of the debate on constitutional amendments.
“The Armenian National Congress (ANC) faction has paid attention to the fact that the parliament speaker is elected for the entire period of the given convocation of the parliament, and sees a danger of reclaiming the power. We are removing this provision as well and will propose a version according to which the parliament speaker will be elected by the majority and can be changed if he loses credit.
Now try and think of an explanation on how the parliament speaker will anyway de facto govern the country, as you say,” Poghosyan said.
