YEREVAN. - Foreign tourists get to know Karabakh mainly through their Armenian friends, representative of the Armenian “Gandzasar” tour agency David Gasparyan told Armenian News – NEWS.am at the Armenia Expo 2015 exhibition in Yerevan.

 “Of course, our company operates the system of online trip reservations to Nagorno-Karabakh, but direct orders from abroad are still rare. Karabakh is mainly visited by foreign tourists who come here to see their Armenian friends and acquaintances. The latter “tempt” them to visit the republic. Afterwards, many leave with the best impressions. But still few people abroad know about Karabakh as a vacation spot, especially if we're talking about non-Armenians. That’s why they first familiarize themselves with Yerevan and only then with Karabakh.  

And this is hardly a surprise: currently Yerevan already has a set of entertainments. Leaving it and setting out for a whole day journey to a place, which one hasn’t seen but only heard of one or two times, is not something everyone will chose to do. But there still are curious enthusiasts. And later they don’t regret about it,” Gapsaryan said.
