On August 24, Chief of the Azerbaijan State Border Service, Commander of Border Troops, Lieutenant-General Elchin Guliyev and First Deputy Director of the Federal Security Service of Russian Federation, Chief of the Border Service, Army General Vladimir Pronichev held a working meeting at Samur checkpoint of Azerbaijan’s state border, APA agency reports.
An operational situation on the Azerbaijani-Russian border and Caspian Sea and its development tendencies were the focus at the meeting. They exchanged views on the extension of mutual useful cooperation between the border services of the two states.
The sides stressed the importance of joint efforts for combating global terrorism, illegal migration, smuggling and other illegal actions against the border security.
